ABOUT ME
I am a fully qualified Primary Teacher working in Aberdeen. I started tutoring one evening a week to help a wee girl in my class who believed she couldn’t read and would never learn. I loved having the ability to respond to her exactly as she needed and taking each step at her own pace. I believe that every child should experience the joy of that ‘ah ha!’ moment and feel the magic of learning - and conquering - new skills.
My ethos is centred around my pupils as a whole person, not just a pass mark or a test result. My teaching is tailored to each child to ensure they can develop their own personal learning style using a wide range of resources and materials. I use various assessment techniques to identify any gaps in foundational learning and build from there at an individual pace. If this sounds like your kind of learning, please get in touch.
Why me
I am on a mission to spread the word – learning IS fun! I am passionate about ensuring my lessons are engaging and exciting for everyone. Whether the goal is to build skills in reading and writing, or understand how to play with numbers, we begin with an initial assessment to identify areas for development. Once we have set goals, the fun begins. I tailor each lesson to my learners along with linking the learning to the Curriculum for Excellence used across Scottish schools. All resources are provided as part of the fee, just bring yourself!
